Abstract smoke has been an exhilarating theme to shoot and edit. It has allowed me to be creative at minimal expense but with the greatest amount of creativity. My long term goal has been to be successful at fine art photography, and I think this might be my ticket.
These images are created from smoke photographs then mirroring the photo and/or inverting it in Photoshop to show the patterns. In the first set, I see a strange alien-like head. Seeing faces in an image is a psychological phenomenon called pareidolia. While this is quite normal, it can seem vary strange when it happens to you. The second set of images are further examples and details of these "faces."
The final set of images are photos of smoke that have been duplicated and mirrored to the point of creating flowery mandala designs. I would love to hear from you and get your perspective on this images. Leave me a comment or send me a message on social media @jim4good
