I recently went with a group of photographers on a photo expedition to the Salton Sea. We went to Bombay Beach and explored the remnants of the once resort spot. For those who haven't been there, it is an unusual site to behold. Located 170 miles east and south of Los Angeles, this spot looks like a post-apocalyptic wasteland. Ruins of buildings and trailers dot the landscape. The remains of fish litter the shore, and their order hangs in the air. Graffiti covers the exterior of the abandoned buildings while rubbish covers the interior.
Despite all these things, there is still an unusual beauty to the Salton Sea. The sunsets are particularly pleasant. It was unfortunate that we did not have some clouds in the sky, but it was still a great experience.
